And… BEGIN!

Thanks to all for the wishes of good luck. Starting next Thursday, we’ll have sixteen-ish days to get as far as we can get. I’d like to make it all the way to Valdez, but then again I’d also like to be taller. Some things just aren’t in the cards…

People have been warning me about bears, which I find strange. I always thought it was spelt B-E-E-R-S, and while a few have kicked my ass a bit over the years, I never met a beer (or is it B-E-A-R) I couldn’t tame.

Don’t worry, I am fully prepared to return to Canada. I’ve got my kilometer-to-hectare conversion chart handy, I’ve learned the rules of hockey, I know that, while in country I will be expected to say thank you to ATM machines just like the natives do, and thanks to my friend Jerry, I’ve even watched Geddy Lee’s authentic Canadian video on toboggan safety!
