I live in a small, snow covered town tucked up in the northwestern corner of the Kingdom of Rhode Island. It’s a great place, chock full of interesting characters, the likes of which I have never found anywhere else in my extensive travels. 4742 people call my tiny town home, and I am proud to be one of them.

Living is a small town has it’s advantages, and it’s disadvantages.

Advantage: Sitting in one of the two dive bars in my town, a total stranger suddenly yells at me from the other end of the bar. “Hey! You! Down dere! You want some venison? I’ll give you as much as you want, ’cause I got too much in my frigidare!” You’ll never starve in my small town.

Disadvantage: Earlier on the same evening, sitting in the other dive bar, a young-looking couple walks in and gets carded. The bartendress looks at the young girl’s ID card then exclaims, “You are NOT this girl! You wanna know how I know? Because I went to high school with her, and YOU are definitely not HER!”
