A real blog called ‘Eye on Sports’ contacted me and asked permission to reprint my Back to Iraq posts from the past trip. The first installment went up today.
Back to Iraq Guest Post on ‘Eye on Sports’
To any visitors from the ‘Eye on Sports’ blog, welcome to the home of my rambling brain-vomit blog on all things motorcycle, television production and general stupidity related. To all my Faithful Fifteen readers, well… maybe now that a real blog has linked here, I’ll have to start writing again……
After a long, miserable winter of not riding (enough), the time has finally come to start planning a new riding season! Dark Meat Snack and I sat down over a few frothy pints of Guinness, and scratched some things out on a cocktail napkin.

How It Usually Starts – A ‘Map-kin’
Somewhere between mildly buzzed and flat-out bombed we decided our first ride of 2009 will be a nice little blast from California to Houston – for Wrestlemania in April.
We’ll be leaving California on or around March 24, and arriving Houston by March 29.
What does this have to do with you?
Plenty.
Ever want a house guest to drink all your beer, eat all your food and sleep on your floor? Ever want to toast the Best Day Ever? Ever want to be a part of one of my boring, long-winded and poorly written ride reports?
Here’s your chance!
If you live somewhere between Los Angeles and Houston, have floor space, extra food, and, most importantly, lots of beer, send me an email and let me know.
Looking forward to hacking out some more ride reports soon!
I got a response from the most recent scam spammer. I feel like I am one step closer to the road to economic recovery!
Attn: Snickerdoodle F. Rumplemintz,
RE: ATM CARD DECISION
How are you? Your fund has finally been transfered to Intercontinental Bank Plc to safeguard and ensure 100% reliability which is inline with the Standard Banking Policies. After much deliberation of this matter in the bank, we are making a better arrangement for your payment in general. To that effect, it will give us a fair ground to process your payment and release it to you.
Dr. Morris Adenuga,
For: Unity B-kline Finance Plc.
My response:
Haaaallllooooo my friends!
Yes, it is I, Snickerdoodle F. Rumplemintz, Esq. Glad to find out that I am inline with Standard Banking policies, and ready for my fraud ATM card. The way I see it, if the US Government can give out trillions of dollars to everyone for no good reason, that must be the new Standard Banking practice!
Fantastic then! I eagerly await my ATM card so I can buy a house. As I told you in the meeting on Waiver, I am currently homeless. That is my problem. Your problem is I don’t currently have an address for you to send my ATM card to, since the bank took my house back for not ‘paying the mortgage.’ Repossessing houses for non-payment is also evidently a part of Standard Banking practice – but this part of that practice sucks.
So, for now, I am living in a big cardboard box in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Tuscaloosa. Could you send me the ATM card there? I will write my name on the outside of the box in big letters like this – SNICKERDOODLE F. RUMPLEMINTZ LIVES HERE –
This should satisfy any Standard Postal Delivery practices, don’t you think? So quit messing around and send me the money before Wal-Mart repossess my cardboard box.
Desperately yours,
S.F.R. Esq.
… or is this recent news story slightly ridiculous? (Bold font added by an incredulous Frenchy)
WASHINGTON – Defense contractor KBR Inc., which is under criminal investigation in the electrocution deaths of at least two U.S. soldiers in Iraq, has been awarded a $35 million contract by the Pentagon to build an electrical distribution center and other projects there.
