When Working Out Doesn’t Work

The WWE is once again in the United Kingdom for shows this Monday and Tuesday. Passing through customs at Gatwick International Airport, I learned that my so-called workout regimen isn’t exactly working.

“Hello and welcome to the UK.” said the customs agent. “Are you here for work or pleasure?”

Handing over my passport and papers I half-lied, “Work, mostly.”

“I see you work for the WWE. Are you a wrestler?”

“No.”

“I figured as much. I was a little disappointed by your lack of muscles.”

Welcome to the UK indeed.

In other news, tonight England plays France in the Rugby World Cup semi-finals. I told the British guys at work I was having a hard time figuring out who to root for.

“Well it’s easy. You’ll root for England unless you want to have your legs broken. In fact tonight we won’t call you Frenchy… tonight you’ll be… BRITNEY!”

Ride report should be up in a few days… if only all this work and rugby watching didn’t get in the way.

Postscript: England, the defending champions of the Rugby World Cup won the match or game or scrum or whatever it’s called last night, but, unlike most battles involving the French – with a score of 14-9, at least this one was close.

Workin’ On It

Workin’ On It

Though it ended last Friday, the ride already seems like it was a year ago. The day after the ride ended, we dove headfirst into a LOOONG Pay Per View week, and tomorrow we head to the U.K. for more work (and to see Rush in Birmingham!)

I’m working on the trip report, but REAL work and stuff keep getting in the way… Never fear, Faithful Fifteen, the story will be posted shortly…

The England stories will just have to wait I guess.

All Over But the Blogging

All Over But the Blogging

We arrived soggy but safe in Orlando last night at 8:30, just in time for Abi to watch the Red Sox win game two of the ALDS, and the rest of us to enjoy some post-trip adult refreshments.
No cross country trip would be complete without slogging through the last hundred miles in a torrential downpour. The so-called Sunshine State gladly obliged.

Oh yeah, it was wet. Sunshine state my ass! You’d think by now I would know better than to jinx myself…

Next time we’ll load the motorcycles up two by two and take the ark!

Joined by Abi’s friend Anna; Abi, Fiona and I enjoy an end of trip cocktail.

Cheers to a great 3564 mile cross country journey!

Tomorrow I’ll begin writing the ride report, there are SO many stories to tell from this incredible trip. And now, back to work.

One To Go

Short day today, from New Orleans to Pensacola. Even though the ride wasn’t long, we traveled through Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. Tomorrow we will make it to Orlando, then the picture sorting and real blogging begins.

Pretty flowers everywhere.

Jinx? Yup.

Sweet Home Alabama

The Sunshine State? Let’s hope so!

One! More! Day!

The Big Easy

The Big Easy

Two days left and only 650 miles to go. Fiona flew in today to finish the trip. I half-jinxed myself yesterday by talking about that dreaded ‘R’ word… it did rain a bit yesterday, but fortunately the rains came after we’d parked the bikes for the night.

Almost as good as the Guinness factory. The smell of hot sauce was thick in the air.
