The WWE is once again in the United Kingdom for shows this Monday and Tuesday. Passing through customs at Gatwick International Airport, I learned that my so-called workout regimen isn’t exactly working.
“Hello and welcome to the UK.” said the customs agent. “Are you here for work or pleasure?”
Handing over my passport and papers I half-lied, “Work, mostly.”
“I see you work for the WWE. Are you a wrestler?”
“No.”
“I figured as much. I was a little disappointed by your lack of muscles.”
Welcome to the UK indeed.
In other news, tonight England plays France in the Rugby World Cup semi-finals. I told the British guys at work I was having a hard time figuring out who to root for.
“Well it’s easy. You’ll root for England unless you want to have your legs broken. In fact tonight we won’t call you Frenchy… tonight you’ll be… BRITNEY!”
Ride report should be up in a few days… if only all this work and rugby watching didn’t get in the way.
Postscript: England, the defending champions of the Rugby World Cup won the match or game or scrum or whatever it’s called last night, but, unlike most battles involving the French – with a score of 14-9, at least this one was close.
