Time flies. It’s already December, which means it’s already time for the WWE to pack up our gear and schlep it overseas. This is the sixth time I’ll get on that big C-17, strap into the misnamed ‘Deluxe Comfort Seat’ and head halfway around the world, all to bring our men and women in uniform some good ol’ American style sports entertainment.

It’s time to leave the comfort of Eastern Standard time and head into the confusion and uncertainty of Military Daylight Wasting time. Things take longer in Iraq; it takes a long time to get there, more time to transform a desert into an arena, time to transform a tent into a production truck; it takes time for the dogs to sniff our gear each morning, everything just takes more time, which is why I think the military uses a twenty four hour clock.

All that time is well spent, because for two hours, we will entertain the troops that, for the sixth year in a row, are far away from home, loved ones, friends and family. For a short time we bring much needed smiles to faces, which, regardless of feelings about the war, for me at least, is time well spent.

Rumor has it that, in addition to mixing the show, I will be writing a blog on WWE.com about this trip. When (and if) I find out that rumor is true, I’ll post a link to that blog here (and hopefully post a link there to this blog, for all WWE.com’s Faithful Fifteen Million to ignore) In any case, after it’s all said and done, I’ll be sure and take a little time afterward to write up the Tribute to the Troops show here.
