Ramblin’

In an effort for the WWE to save some money, they’ve cut back the TV recording schedule, giving me more time off each month. While this is bad for the ol’ checkbook, the ‘useless toy acquisition fund’ and mortgage company, it’s been good for the soul. Thanks to my additional time off, I’ve been riding more than ever – a happily unintended benefit of the so-called ‘economic crisis.’

Took a left instead of the usual right turn while out riding yesterday, and, to my amazement, I found even more great riding roads up in the San Gabriel mountains. This place is a serious playground for motorcycles and sports cars, and oh, so close to Rain Cloud Follows west coast home. Roads that twist and turn, wind and climb, and never fail to make that involuntary smile appear. Thanks to this new discovery, the ‘Milk Run’ can now easily be extended to get bread, eggs and maybe even some apple pie.

Also found this sign, which made me laugh.

In a few short weeks, my friend Keith, A.K.A Unleaded from the Great Unsponsored Nova Scotia Expedition will be packing his Buddha statue and leaving the frozen wasteland he calls home to come out for a visit.

My plan for this visit includes writing and photographing the ride, then submitting it to a few motorcycling magazines – one of my unmet goals from last year. Better late than never, I always say. I’ve been doing a lot of recon for this trip, and without a doubt, which is sure to include much riding, exploring, and of course Macallan tasting.
