I know, right? Idaho? Rules? That flat, forgotten state? Are you nuts? The land of the… potato? You say it rules? What the hell?

It’s absolutely amazing! Idaho has this road, a secret weapon really, called Route 12. Innocent sounding, but OH MY GOD! What a ROAD!

It winds almost 200 traffic-free miles along the extremely snaky Clearwater River, a haven for the insane among the white water rafting crowd.
It is so incredibly incredible, it should be illegal.
Idaho would’ve easily won the coveted Frenchy’s Best Road Ever award, if it wasn’t for Washington’s Route 129; a hidden gem that sneaks up on you, rips out your gall bladder, throws it over it’s shoulder, then laughs at you as you try to figure out what the fuck just happened!
I have ridden a LOT of roads in my day, a lot of very, very good roads, and I have to bow down to the designers of this most excellent, most perfectly twisted thoroughfare.

And then there’s Oregon…… Innocent little Oregon…

I have plenty more pictures, and the ride report… well, I HOPE it’ll be short, sweet and hopefully at least half as good as 129 was.
